Bergson Howls with Hubert
New York guitarist/vocalist Chris Bergson will perform with blues legend Hubert Sumlin at Woodstock's Bearsville Theater on Saturday, August 15.  Best known for his tenure with Howlin' Wolf, guitarist Hubert Sumlin played on such classic recordings as "Spoonful", "Killing Floor" and "Wang Dang Doodle".  The set will feature many signature Howlin' Wolf tunes, with Bergson covering the vocals and rhythm guitar.  Bergson leads a distinguished band performing the music of Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters comprised of pianist Bruce Katz (Gregg Allman), drummer Randy Ciarlante (The Band) and bassist Frankie Ingrao (Levon Helm and the Barn Burners).  They are honored to perform with Sumlin, a true living legend who was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame earlier this year. 

Chris Bergson Band back at the Ramble
Bergson returns to Woodstock on Saturday, September 5th when the Chris Bergson Band will open for the Levon Helm Band at Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble.  As the Chris Bergson Band's latest CD, FALL CHANGES, (MOJO Magazine's number one Blues Album of 2008) was recorded at Levon Helm Studios, this show is a fitting return, The band features tenor saxophonist/vocalist Jay Collins and pianist/organist Bruce Katz - both fresh off the road with Gregg Allman- along with bassist Richard Hammond (Joan Osborne) and drummer Tony Leone (Ollabelle).  ROLLING STONE calls the Midnight Ramble "an intimate all-star concert".  Past performers have included Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Garth Hudson and Norah Jones.
